My Antonym Diamante Poem

My reflection

I have been learning to write an antonym diamante poem. An antonym means the opposite. My poem is about diving and climbing. I found this easy because I have been rock climbing and swimming before. my next step is to base my diamante antonym poem on something harder next time.

Proofreading Activtivity

Reflection:
I have been learning to proofreading work.
Proofreading is important because you might be able to do better work in school than those who dont.
I found this tricky because you also have to also put in other details such like  , . and ?
My next step is to correct my grammar.

My Maori Guardian Art

                                                                          Reflection:
We read a myth about how Maori believe  the world began. It was called "In the beginning" I learnt about some of the Maori Guardians.
I chose to draw Tumatauenga.
I wrote some adjectives  to describe Tumatauenga,
Tumatauenga is as mean as the devil.
Tumatauenga is as bossy as the devil.

I found this activity fun to draw and colour in.

Character Analysis - Stuart Little

 Reflection:

I have been  learning to relate to the characters in the text to understand their purpose.
I found this activity tricky because  I had to find 4 trait for Stuart and write about why I chose them.
My next step is to understand more about the characters.

I have been learning to relate to the characters in the text to understand their purpose.

In this activity I had to think about two characters point of view to help me understand the story mode.

I found this interesting because I had to search and understand the story.

I found that the part of understanding was kind of tricky.

My Reflection:

I am learning to read analogue clocks and write the time in numbers (digital) and words Mrs Melville helped me with most of it,  I am still learning to tell the time.  My next step is to practise telling the time at home and maybe get a time chart.

Reflection:

I have been learning to write the ’ar’ sound with appropriate spelling patterns. I found this easy because you just needed to find the words with ´ar´ and then put it in a sentence,My next step is to listen to sounds.

We have been learning about mixing colors to make tints,tones and shades.

A tint is a color that is mixed with white.

A shade is a color mixed with  black.\

A tone is a color mixed with black and white.

I found this kinda tricky because it was hard knowing how to mix witch colors in witch.

Describing 3D shapes

I have been learning to recognise and describe 3D shapes. I found this kind of tricky because it was tricky seeing the sides and counting.  My next step is to get better at counting because I went over and over on counting.

EPS Olympic day

We have been learning to use onomatopoeia in our writing. We wrote an acrostic poem  about EPS Olympics day. Can you see how many onomatopoeia words I used?
My next step is to Use onomatopoeia in every line.

Long 'a' spelling pattern

My Reflection:
I am learning to find the long 'a' sound in words. I found this easy because I just needed to follow the instructions. And write down the sound in the boxes that match.  My next step is to remember this spelling pattern.

Reading Around the World

My Reflection:
Wee have learning to find an summarise  information in non-fiction  texts by skimming and scanning,
I researched facts about Japan  I found  the information  in the internet/books.
I found it easy because all you had to do is type in what your looking for and just copy the facts.
my next step is to check the contents page or the index to see if it is revelent to me.

Olympics Comprehension

 Reflection:
I have been learning to answer questions using complete sentences. I found this easy because I just needed to find the sentences in the reading log page.My next step is to never use one word answers.

Repeated Addition

My reflection:

I have been learning to use repeated addition to solve  multiplication problems. I found this tricky because 

it was hard using my brain to understand the question and solve it. 

My next step is to take my time and say ¨its not a race¨

Bike Skills

                                                          My reflection:
I enjoyed doing bike skills and riding a bike! I learnt to check my chain and brakes, the best part about it that I had a lot of fun at bike skills.

Reflection:
I have been learning to add language features to my writing  to make it interesting.

I found this fun because it was hard finding facts about it and try not putting ¨koala¨ in the middle of my sentences.

Matariki Poems

Reflection:
We  have been learning to write a haiku and acrostic poem.
My favorite  poem to write was the haiku  because it was difficult and fun to think of 5 and 7 words.
The hardest poem to write  was the haiku because of the 7 and 5 words to think of.
My next step is to think of better words to put in my poems.

I have been learning to find information by skimming and scanning. I used keywords to help me find information,  then I summarized the information I found. I found challenging to find information. My next step is to refer to success criteria.

Paragraph writing

My Reflection
I am learning to write paragraph.  I found this easy because I was writing about my weekend but it was tricky trying to decide where to put fullstops and when to put writing in the next box.  My next step is to start using paragraphs in my writing.

Using a glossary, index and table of contents

My Reflection

I have been learning to use a glossary, index and table of contents to get information.

I used the information of the actual book and skimming and scanning in the book to gather information and put them in my own words to help me.

I found this interesting because I learnt about the universe and how it works and all about the planets.

My next step is to put more information in the  work sheet and look at the glossary, index and the contents to get more ideas.

Dear diary, Term 2, Week 3

Dear diary,

Last week we did sign language with Casey,  she taught us how to do sign language.   I learnt how to say my name in sign! So you have to get your two bottom fingers of your hands and stick them together  then put your index finger on the left side of your thumb,  then  put three fingers on the palm of your  hand and that's my name.

Term 2, Week 2 Diary post

Dear diary,

It was an awesome  term because one day when i went to school I walked in the class room and on the corner of my eye I saw a poster saying"witch MATTER matters most?" and I was like "WHA?"  because I dint know what that meant at the time.
then  all the year 3's went to the assembly to know about MATTER, and I didn't knew that  MATTER was a thing!
and we got  split  into  4 group of MATTER and they were: Solid,Liquid,Gas,Plasma.
Then we got sent to 4 different class rooms to know about MATTER.

My first class was an egg experiment  and  Mrs Massey had a lighter and 1 piece of paper and light  the p
peice  of paper and put in the bottle and she got a egg and put it on top of the bottle and it was kind of shapeshifting into the bottle.
 Then after that science class me and my group moved to the lava lamp class. We leanrt how to  make a lava lamp but do not shake it!

Then after that we moved to RM 12, my class we  did like a  a MATTER solve pile. Then finally after that we did like a MATTER game on the laptops in RM 12. Then we went to the  assembly to watch a  movie it was about MATTER.
Then our final class  was a goop science class,when I was called up the woman at the front gave me some goop and she said  to break it in half and see what happens. When I broke a peace the goop was dripping in my hands and i thought  it was going to be actaul goop. Then the day was over and I was tired going to different classes. But i made it through.

My Pepeha is a way to  introduce  my self to others. I am learning to understand what other people write and draw to introduce there self's to others.

I like the sun-set so i added it to my Maunga. I also added a giant S so it's kinda like my own Maunga.\

I have been learning to find and summarise information.  We read a story about White Tailed Spiders.  I enjoyed this book because it gave you a lot of information about White Tailed Spiders.  I found this tricky because I had to look around the book to find information about The White Tailed Spider.  Next time I will look for the keywords to help me find the answers.

Our trip to te tuhi

We went on a trip to te-tuhi, we did wish you was here art.  i found it easy because my mum helped me.

Combining number to 10

My Reflection

I have been learning to combine numbers to make 10.  I found this tricky because it had a lot of solving out to do.  The hardest part was adding all the numbers together.  My next step is to keep practising this until I am confident.
